About Me

I am a bright and energetic sixteen-year-old with an international background.

For almost all of my life I have lived in Asia, with 10 years in Singapore and two years in Hong Kong. When I was young I also lived just outside Chicago, Illinois. In March 2014 I started studying at Malvern College, in the UK.

I have just finished my GCSE exams and I am studying Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Economics at A-Level.

Academics

Education

In Singapore I attended Tanglin Trust School between Years 2 and 7 before moving to Hong Kong, where I studied at Kellett School. I completed Year 8 and two terms of Year 9 nine at Kellett, and then left to Malvern College, in Worcestershire, England where I was in the full boarding system.

Results

For my GCSE results I obtained:

  • 5 A*s in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Geography
  • 4 As, including an A in Additional Mathematics

Personal Interests and Achievements

My interests include:

  • Most sports, particularly rugby and football
  • Coding and technology
  • Problem and Puzzle Solving

Sport

In Year 11 I had the incredible opportunity of playing for both the First XV for rugby, and the First XI for football. During both seasons I deeply enjoyed myself and selection for these teams are my stand-out sporting achievements. Along with these I represented Tanglin School in athletics and football at a regional level in Asia at a competition called FOBISEA.

Coding and Technology

I began to code of my own accord, in Year 11. I started out by using Codecademy to teach myself the very basics of HTML, CSS, Java and Python. The first time that I was taught code properly was on a coding course at BSD. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the course, and it taught me a huge amount about coding itself, along with ways to easily create my own websites and games.

Problem and Puzzle Solving

I have always enjoyed mind games, particularly if they are mathematical, such as Sudoku. In Years 10 and 11 I entered the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge and recieved a Gold award both times. In Year 11 I qualified in the top 4% for the next level of the competition, called Pink Kangaroo.
